Uzbekistan was included in the top five countries for independent travel

Uzbekistan has made it into the top five destinations for solo travel according to the American travel platform Much Better Adventures, the press service of the Tourism Committee reports.

The Solo Travel Index 2026 examined a total of 26 countries. Uzbekistan ranked among the top five, placing alongside such popular travel destinations as Italy, Japan and Portugal.

When compiling the ranking, experts took into account booking trends, traveller experiences, the Global Peace Index, ease of obtaining a visa, the cost of food, as well as biodiversity indicators.

Uzbekistan is becoming one of the unique destinations of the Great Silk Road, interest in which is growing among American tourists following the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for US citizens. The country’s rich history, unique nature and developed tourism infrastructure make it an attractive destination for adventure lovers, the article states.
