9.1 million tourists visited Uzbekistan in eight months

From January—August 2026, Uzbekistan received 9.1 million foreign tourists. Compared with the same period in 2025, the tourist flow increased by 21.1 percent, the Tourism Committee reports.

In the first seven months of the current year, 7.7 million foreign citizens visited the country. Thus, August accounted for an additional flow of 1.4 million tourists.

The most notable growth was recorded in a number of key foreign markets. The number of tourist trips by Chinese citizens increased 2.3 times year on year, Malaysia — two times, Japan — 1.5 times, the USA — 1.4 times, Russia — 1.3 times.

The growth in tourist flow from European countries also continued. The number of tourists from Germany increased by 25 percent. 21 percent more tourists came to Uzbekistan from France and the United Kingdom. The Turkish tourist flow grew by 15 percent.

At the same time, revenues from the export of tourism services increased. During the reporting period, the figure amounted to $4.6 billion, which is 53.5 percent higher than the level of January—August last year.

Thus, the growth in the number of foreign visitors was accompanied by a more significant increase in the volume of exports of tourism services.
